With the wedding industry back up and running and venues busier than ever, we’re sharing some recommendations and insights into ten of Yorkshire’s best wedding venues.

In the last 12 months alone, there has been a 131% increase in interest for the term ‘Yorkshire wedding venue’¹ and an 85% increase in searches for ‘wedding venues’². With so many of you looking for inspiration, we’ve rounded up some of the most magical venues in the region and what type of weddings these work for:

1. Rudding Park

Located in Harrogate, Rudding Park can be individually designed to reflect your personality and taste. This venue has two options for weddings, including ‘small weddings’ and ‘your big day’. The small wedding option holds up to 45 guests and includes the ‘Traditional Elegance package’. The package includes a three-course wedding breakfast with formal table service, drinks, wedding reception room hire, civil ceremony and a Follifoot Wing Junior Suite for the happy couple, including access to the Rooftop Spa.

The larger wedding option allows a minimum of 50 guests and you are able to choose from a number of different rooms, including the Radcliffe Room holding 80 to 180 guests, the Crosby Suite holding 50 to 72 guests, and the Jupiter Room holding 20 to 45 guests.

You will also have access to a variety of in-house perks, ensuring that your perfect day runs smoothly. These options include a personal duty manager, an in house florist, a red carpet, a moon arch for pictures, couples menu tasting beforehand and complimentary food and drinks on the day for the married couple.

As well as this, Rudding Park offers a unique Love Island experience which is located in the centre of a lake, enabling the happy couple to row out and drink champagne in a very insta-worthy location. Following this, the couple will have full access to the disco, duke box, stage and dancefloor and the rooftop spa.

2. Crowne Plaza

A four-star hotel in Leeds, Crowne Plaza is a fabulous option for your wedding. The hotel offers various wedding packages to ensure that they cover your every desire, and every package includes a ceremony at the venue, along with an incredible wedding reception.

You’ll also have the option to utilise Crowne Plaza’s wedding planner, wedding suppliers, catering providers, and luxurious hotel rooms. The venue has two licensed suites to cater for weddings from 20 to 200 guests, enabling any sized wedding party to have the dream day. As well as this the hotel includes an onsite spa equipped with a gym, swimming pool, whirlpool, steam room and sauna.

Crowne Plaza has a range of all-inclusive wedding packages available to book now and start from just £1,780 for an intimate wedding for 30 guests, £4,350 for the Crowne Package and £6,350 for the Jewel in the Crowne Package.

3. The Tetley

Located on Hunslet Road in Leeds, The Tetley is a unique wedding venue full of character. The building has beautiful Art Deco architecture and amazing original features, including the wrought-iron lift and historic boardroom.

The Tetley does not have set wedding packages and instead prefers to make every wedding individual to the particular bride and groom, ensuring that they give every couple their dream day. The venue has a licence for civil ceremonies and allows small and large gatherings.

In terms of the food on offer, there are a range of options, including a formal dinner, a casual BBQ or even traditional British homemade dishes such as fish and chips or pie and peas.

The Tetley is a charity, and all profits help emerging artists of the future and their participation work with local schools and communities.

4. Grantley Hall

Grantley Hall is a 5-star hotel located in Ripon; it provides an exquisite experience combining rich heritage, grand décor and beautiful formal gardens. The rooms, suites and entire interior is a perfect mix of historic and modern luxury.

The hall offers different packages which fit each couple’s unique tastes. For over 180 guests, you are able to build a marquee on the grounds. As well as this, there is access to all 47 bedrooms and suites, the award-winning restaurants, Valeria’s Champagne and Cocktail Bar, and use of the spa and gym facilities.

The venue is the perfect destination for some good pics! There is even a large club set out for your after-party, in which DJ’s can stay until the early hours of the morning.

5. Holdsworth House

Holdsworth House is a five-star hotel and restaurant located in Halifax, West Yorkshire and is an award-winning wedding venue. It is a ​​380-year-old Jacobean house and is set in beautiful, landscaped gardens.

Whilst it may host many glitz and glam weddings, you can also hold a more traditional wedding, with the historical decor, traditionally styled by beams, panelled halls and many antique pieces such as paintings. Holdsworth house can host every part of your wedding, including the ceremony, breakfast, catering, evening party and sleepover.

Different packages are available, including bespoke weddings, pain-free packages, winter weddings, small weddings, outdoor weddings and exclusive use hire package.

Five rooms are available for ceremonies from 2 to 120 guests, including The Gazebo – the smallest licensed venue in the country. The Stuart Room can accommodate 120 seated guests for a wedding breakfast and 150 for an evening party.

6. York Barn

Located in York, York Barn is set in 15 acres of private gardens, and weddings can be hosted indoors or outdoors.

York Barn can seat up to 150 for the wedding breakfast and 220 for the evening reception. They also have onsite accommodation perfect for guests who want to make a night of it!

York Barn only holds weddings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. They have many facilities, including underfloor heating, luxury toilets, a fully stocked bar, a professional kitchen and bi-folding doors leading out onto a private undercover terrace. There is also a complete lighting package, including fairy lights, festoons, cartwheel chandeliers, LED strip downlights, and brickwork feature lighting.

For 2022, weekend wedding package rates are at £9,495.00.

7. Carlton Towers

Carlton Towers is based in Goole, North Yorkshire. This fairytale wedding venue is a five star privately owned Victorian Gothic-style country house set among 250 acres of parkland in the stunning Yorkshire landscape.

It can accommodate up to 170 guests from your ceremony and reception and 200 for the evening celebration. The venue has three grand staterooms, 16 individually and beautifully designed character bedrooms, a minstrel’s gallery, bar, lobby, dance area and garden.

Each wedding can choose from two rooms to get married in, including the picture gallery, which is filled with original artwork, or if you want a smaller ceremony, you can get married in the card room. The menu for the wedding is entirely your choice, from a buffet to a three-course meal to a bbq, the venue will make anything you desire.

8. The Tithe Barn

This five-star wedding venue was built in the 16th century and is set within the Duke of Devonshire’s majestic Bolton Abbey Estate in the Yorkshire Dales. One of the largest wedding venues in the UK, it holds 200 people for the ceremonies and dinner and 300 for the drinks and dance-filled evening.

The Tithe Barn has an open kitchen with an indoor BBQ, rotisserie, and a late license until 1 am. With a flagstone floor, beautiful beams and medieval chandeliers, this wedding venue provides a perfect mix of historical and traditional decor with a modern touch, everything you could want for your wedding.

9. Bowcliffe Hall

Located in Bramham, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, built between 1805 and 1825, Bowcliffe retains the stately atmosphere of a country house but has the features of more modern events.

Bowcliffe hall has different venues available all in one location, including an impressive ballroom, including a chandelier, ceiling gilded with 23.5-carat gold, art deco bar, sound system, hand-blocked wallpaper and oak floor.

If this isn’t to your taste, there is the available Driver’s Club, a venue for members which operates outside of regular working hours. It can accommodate 85 guests for a drinks reception and 35 guests for a wedding breakfast. The Driver’s Club decor is inspired by the 1920”s with original motoring art and artefacts from talented artists.

Alternatively, the multi-award-winning Blackburn Wing is a 2000 sq ft tree-house shaped like an aeroplane and nestled in woodland. It is a glamorous copper and glass masterpiece and can accommodate 120 standing guests and 60 seated guests.

Each wedding can be designed entirely bespoke and the grounds are maintained all year round to provide the perfect pictures.

10. Camp Katur

If you want a unique and alternative wedding, Camp Katur is the perfect place for your special day.

An outdoor venue based in North Yorkshire, this camp is in 250 acres of woodland, fields and forests. You can live your ultimate glamping experience with bespoke accommodation and pop up hire of your choice. There are available choices of geodomes, pods and tents.

Available as the ceremony and reception areas, the old dairy farm has oak beams and exposed brickwork and can hold 150 seated guests and 200 standing. Camp Katur offers a range of wedding packages starting from £3,000, and they can cater for large parties up to 1,500 people or as little as ten people.
